

Neal Edward Williams, 87, of Lynchburg passed away Monday, May 25, 2015, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy Mayberry Chewning Williams. Born January 2, 1928, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late John Norman Williams and the late Eunice Tweedy Williams.
Neal was a retired account representative for Hill City Wood and a member of Keystone Baptist Church. He also served our country in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during World War II.
In addition to his parents, Neal was preceded in death by his first wife, Lina Caldwell Williams; and one stepson Timothy Chewning.
In addition to his wife, Neal is survived by four sons, John Williams and his wife Joy of Goode, Bobby Williams and his wife Debbie of Forest, Jesse Chewning and his wife Dale of Long Island and Richard Chewning and his wife Susan of Lynchburg; one brother, Bernard Williams and his wife Jane of Chesapeake; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren including, Tracie Sugden, Carrie Williams and Brian Williams.
A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 29, 2015, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. J. Monty Fox officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
