Nora Erma Benedict

Nora Erma Benedict, 87, of Evington passed away Monday, November 5, 2018, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Charles Henry Benedict. Born May 1, 1931, in Rossie, NY, she was the daughter of the late Alger Barkley and the late Mary Coutre Barkley. Nora was a retired employee for General Electric. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and grandmother. In addition to her husband and parents, Nora was preceded in death by three siblings, Pauline Vitello, John Barkley and Malcolm Barkley; and one grandson, Michael Goodwin. Nora is survived by her children, Christine B. Callahan (James), Anne Goodwin (Stephen) and Michael Benedict, all of Evington; two sisters, Hilda Backus of Liverpool, NY and Agnes Klodzen of Mattydale, NY; one granddaughter, Rachel Goodwin; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 9, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. David Heerspink officiating. Interment will follow at Meade Cemetery in Madison Heights. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
