

Born June 15, 1921 in Charlotte County, she was the daughter of the late Luther Thomas Elder and Mary Rodenhizer Elder and was also preceded in death by four brothers, James Corbin Elder, Henry Elder, Elbert Elder, and Len Elder and six sisters, Leona Marston, Mattie McCullough, Florine Harper, Eula Guthrie, Mary Marston and Janie Elder. She was retired from General Electric with twenty years of service and was a member of Keystone Baptist Church.
Mrs. Adams is survived by one son, Ronald G. Adams and wife Brenda of Lynchburg; two daughters, Marilyn A. Doss and husband Rick of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and Dale A. Grigsby and husband Gary of Lynchburg and four grandchildren, Ronda A. Neuland and husband Michael of Lynchburg, Ron Adams of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Michael Grigsby and wife Jenna of Ventura, CA, and Jacob Grigsby of Lynchburg and his girlfriend, Anna Ledoux and a great granddaughter, Anna Riley of Gainesville, VA..
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. J. Monty Fox officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Monday, August 17, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, 7404 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, 24502 (434-239-0331) and other times at the home of Ronnie and Brenda, 3905 Peakland Place, Lynchburg.
