Pablo Torres

He was born on July 7, 1965, in Chicago, IL. Pablo was known for his humor, and his outgoing and friendly personality, making him well-liked by everyone.

Pablo is survived by his wife, Jessica Torres, his children Kayla, Jennifer, PJ, Kristina, and Stephanie, his mother Laura Lopez Cabrera, his sister Maria "Socky" Colone, and his brother Luis Torres.

Throughout his career, Pablo worked as a Corrections Officer in Orlando, FL for over 20 years. While working in Corrections, he worked in Transportation and was often working as security for various sporting events, being a bodyguard to celebrities at the Orlando Arena. Pablo loved helping people and volunteering in the community. He was a baseball coach, as well as a basketball coach. He was also an Awana Commander and a volunteer firefighter.

After moving to VA, he worked as a Police Officer with LUPD and served as a School Resource Officer at LCA. Pablo also worked as part of the security team protecting Dr Jerry Falwell Sr. He loved working in law enforcement so much that outside of LUPD, he also volunteered with the Bedford County Sheriff's office, worked security at the mall and helped lead the Bedford County Police Explorers.

Besides his family, and his job, he was also passionate about his faith. He was saved at a young age and he regularly attended Church services until his health didn't allow him to. Pablo was a member at Beulah Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the drums during morning worship services. He was a deacon, a Sunday school teacher and a choir member. His hobbies included playing softball, listening to music and watching TV. He also loved playing dominos or UNO.

Pablo's funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Beulah Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Dr. Dennis Hollandsworth. Interment will immediately follow the service at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery on Leesville Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the church.
