

Born in Amherst County on September 19, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Al Lincoln Martin and Mary Lou Hartless Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Clyde Everett Marsh, and her daughter, Deanna Lynn Marsh Ratliff.
She is survived by her son, Clyde E. Marsh, Jr.; four grandchildren, Sarah Marsh, Marianne R. Hashmi, Ian Ratliff, and Miles Ratliff; and five great-grandchildren, Olivia Harvey, Molly Kiser, Layla Hashmi, Reza Hoshmi, and Jenson Johnson-Porterfield.
Ann was a generous and compassionate woman who found joy in helping others. In the spirit of service that defined her life, she became a nurse’s aide with the Red Cross at the age of 16 and later retired from a long and dedicated career in nursing at the Central Virginia Training Center. She had a deep love for children and was well known for her sense of humor and kind heart.
Ann and her husband attended Calvary Cross Baptist Church.
A service celebrating Ann’s life will be conducted at 3:00 pm Sunday December 28, 2025 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2025 at Presbyterian Cemetery.
