

Born in Carrizo Springs, Texas, he was the son of the late Essie Mozell (Chandler) and the late Charles L. Stanley. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betsy Ruth Melenesk and one stepson, Daniel C. Long.
After graduating from Edison High School, San Antonio, TX, he began his adult years serving our country in the U.S. Navy where he spent his time boxing. He returned home at the end of his naval service to work in the family business that eventually lead to his career in the elevator trade. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Pat is survived by two sons, Charles A. Stanley and his wife, Deborah, of LaVernia, TX and John Stanley and his wife, Mary, of San Antonio, TX; one daughter, Bonnie Rivera and her husband, Larry, of San Antonio, TX; six step children, Cynthia Scott and her husband, Charles, of Van Buren, AK, Rodney Long and his wife, Valerie, of Lynchburg, Rita Ragland and her husband, Barry, of Lynchburg, Bryan Long of Rocky Mount, Sue George and her husband, Thomas, of Lynchburg and Loren Long and his wife, Jane, of Franklin, N.C.; two brothers, Robert W. Stanley of New Braunfels, TX and C.L. Stanley, Jr., of San Antonio, TX; twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., today, August 7, 2013, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
