

Born in Roanoke, October 10, 1936, he was a son of the late Ralph Greer Stinson and Marie Sullivan Stinson. Ralph proudly served his country in the US Navy. He also served Pacific area Mission and worked for the Old Time Gospel Hour. Later he worked for Columbia Gas Company and retired from the City of Lynchburg. He was a longtime member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, two brothers, Donnie Stinson and Wayne Stinson and a nephew Stevie Clifton, preceded him in death.
In addition to his wife, He is survived by one son, Brian Stinson and his wife Elizabeth of Amherst; two step-children, Lisa Sutphin and husband Jeff of Vinton and James Conner and wife Kaye of Madison Heights; one sister, Jean Isom and husband Jim of Baltimore, MD; one brother, Rick Stinson and wife Cindy of St. Augustine, FL; three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2014 in the Pate Chapel at Thomas Road Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
