

Born May 9, 1949 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Leon and Rachel Marie Maddox Fogle and was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael Scott Fogle. Mrs. Bowling was a former employee of the Central Virginia Training Center and was a longtime member of Fairview Christian Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Mrs. Bowling is survived by her daughters, Michelle B. Murphy of Lynchburg and Lisa C. Bell (Roger Moore) of Cookville, TN; her son, Shawn C. Bowling of Nashville, TN; one brother, Danny Wayne Fogle (Patricia) of Monroe; four special grandchildren, Mallory Murphy, Sydney Moore, Natalie Murphy, and Dylan Moore; a niece, Heather Fogle-Wilson (Ronald); a great nephew, Jackson Fogle-Wilson and her mother-in-law, Virginia Bowling. She is also survived by her faithful canine companion, Bentley.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Fairview Christian Church with Pastor Curtis Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, 7404 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg.
