Born on November 13, 1933 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late, Frank Scruggs and Mabel Collins Scruggs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Gerald Bryan Scruggs and one brother, Howard Scruggs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, R.D. Scruggs Jr. and his wife Deborah and a daughter, Cathy Scruggs all of Forest ; a brother Lewis Scruggs and his wife Linda of Lynchburg; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. He served our country in the US Air Force in Korea and Japan during the Korean War and retired from C & P Telephone Co with 34 years of service. Reggie held many positions in local credit unions and was a long-time member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church where he served as Deacon.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Fort Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Randy Bower.
