Roger Lee Phillips

Born in Lynchburg, January 7, 1946, he was the son of the late Clarence Phillips and Ruby Marie Maddox Phillips. He worked for Montague-Betts for several years and later retired from WalMart and was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge #1727. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors especially softball which he played for many years. He shared his passion with his grandchildren and loved to watch them play.

He was preceded in death by one brother James Larry Phillips, Sr. and one sister Patsy Phillips.

He is survived by three daughters, Sherry Tidwell and her husband Ray of Concord, Kathy Huffman and her husband William, and Michelle Yeaples and her husband Gordon all of Lynchburg; one son, Roger C. Phillips of Evington; seven grandchildren, Tony Tidwell, John Tidwell, Meagan Yeaples, Kailey Huffman, Jade Phillips, Lyza Phillips and Nora Phillips and a special friend, Marlene Wilkes.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013 at Spring Hill Cemetery with Pastor Joseph Hill officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
