Ruby was born in Bedford County on September 28, 1928, the daughter of the late Thomas J. Millner and Malvinnia Millner. She was a lifetime member of North Bedford Baptist Church and retired from General Electric. Ruby also managed the Texaco Station on Ward’s Road for many years.
Ruby was preceded in death by a sister, Eliza Millner and brothers, Thomas M. Millner, Franklin J. Millner, and A. Howard Millner.
Ruby is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Moore (Steve) of Gretna; grandson, Michael Millner (Leigh) of Middlesex, NC; granddaughter, Michelle Moore (Jason) of Gretna; two great grandsons, Devin Millner and Gavin Wetmore; two sisters, Sarah Millner of Memphis, TN and Shirley Morris of Lynchburg; sister-in-law Lera Millner of Lynchburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Anderson, Dr. Paul, Dr. Lord, Dr. Plankell and the nurses and doctors on the 3rd floor of Lynchburg General Hospital for their excellent care.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the home of her sister, Shirley Morris.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, with Rev. Chad Brady officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
