Ruth Swanson White

Ruth Swanson White, 94, of Lynchburg, died, Saturday, September 10, 2011, at her residence. She was the wife of the late John Albert White. Born April 27, 1917, in Goldsboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Swanson and the late Lillian Johns Swanson.

Mrs. White was a retired clerk for G.C. Murphy Company and a member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. White is preceded in death by one sister, Frances Coles.

Mrs. White is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Tribble and her husband Robert of Glen Allen and Sylvia Guerich of Lynchburg; six grandchildren, Linda Gray, Keith Lewis, Greg Lewis, Edward Hudson, Jeffrey Hudson and John Hudson; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted, 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2011, with the Rev. Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends, 3-5 p.m., Sunday, September 11, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence.
