Born in Lynchburg on September 20, 1947 she was a daughter of the late Maynard Whitten and Dorothy Whitten. She graduated from Brookville High School and continued her education graduating from Central Virginia Community College and Randolph Macon Woman’s College. She retired from Bell Atlantic Phone Company.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Matthew Beale and his wife Carrie of Madison Heights; and survived by five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
