Shawn Alexander Storey

Shawn Alexander Storey, 54, peacefully departed this life to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Shawn leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, remembered by those whose lives he touched. Shawn was born in Longview, TX, on May 1, 1969, a son of Jim Storey of Missouri and the late Bonnie Dewitt Storey. He dedicated his professional life to the art of cabinet making, employed by Columbus Woodworks. In his leisure time, Shawn shared his passion for music as a DJ at various local venues, creating joyful atmospheres for parties and weddings. He was a devoted member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, where he found spiritual solace. Shawn is survived by his beloved wife, Wendy R. Storey, and their cherished daughter, Laney Storey. He is also survived by his father, Jim Storey, and step-mother Becky; his sister, Heather Lea, and her husband Clayton; and mother-in-law, Betty Pittman. Additionally, he is fondly remembered by two brothers-in-law, Kevin Pittman (Kristen) and Jimmie Pittman (Lori) and nieces and nephews, Kylie and Karleigh Pittman and Shannon and Micah Lea. A service celebrating Shawn's life and faith will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, with Pastor Rick Rasberry officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
