Born in Lynchburg on March 2, 1927, to the late George David Wilcher and Mary Willie Campbell Wilcher, she was the youngest and last surviving sibling of five brothers and six sisters. She was the wife to the late Pearl Bradley Cole, to whom she was married to for 39 years.
Shirley is survived by her three sons, Kenneth Bradley Cole of Lynchburg, Barry Lynn Cole of Amherst, and Darrell Ray Cole of Madison, N.J.; her grandson, Brent Anthony Cole of Lynchburg; and her great granddaughter, Amarea Christian.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Spring Hill Cemetery, with Dr. Philip Wiley officiating.
