

Born in Lynchburg, September 24, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Otis Keith Thaxton and Betty Freeman “Tink” Thaxton. She was retired from the Central Virginia Training Center after 30 years of service and was a member of Eastbrook Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Tammy Lynn Skinner and her husband Steve of Lynchburg; her son, Joseph Edward Miller of Forest; two brothers, Michael Keith Thaxton and his wife Kathy of Evington and Dennis Wayne Thaxton and his wife Sarah of Burke; one sister, Teresa Thaxton Masseth and her husband James of Lynchburg and three grandchildren; Rachael Mackenzie Crytser, Makayla Chase Miller and Brittany Marie Robertson and one great granddaughter, Willow Lael Chester.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Eastbrook Baptist Church with the Rev. Curtis Walkup officiating. The family will host a luncheon following the service at the church.
