Born in Connellsville, PA, November 22, 1946, he was the son of the late Wesley Blaine Helms and Nellie Cale Helms. He was retired from GE/Ericsson after over 30 years of service. Following retirement, he and his son established T&G Services. He was a member of Clearview Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Robert Blaine Helms, Heidi Helms Overall and Gabriel Alan Helms; one sister, Elissa Helms Mardis; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Clearview Baptist Church with Pastor Zane Kramer officiating.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
