
Born June 13, 1920, in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late John Joseph Morrison and Mary Eleanor Doyle Morrison.
Mr. Morrison was a graduate of Holy Cross High School, and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Notre Dame, and was a proud member of the Monogram Club. He worked for many years with his father and brother at John J. Morrison and Sons in Lynchburg.
He was a past President of the Lynchburg Junior Chamber of Commerce, past President of Lynchburg Kiwanis Club, recipient of the National Conference of Christian and Jews award in 1974, served as Lay Chairman of Holy Cross Catholic Church Parish Board, and past President of the Holy Cross PTA. In addition to his devotion to Holy Cross Parrish, he was involved in many community organizations through the years.
Survivors also include three children, Mary Eleanor Morrison, Thomas A. Morrison Jr., and John J. Morrison and wife Merrie, of Fredericksburg; two brothers, Charles M. Morrison and wife Austin, of Richmond, and Paul M. Morrison and wife Helen, of Louisville, numerous Doyle and Morrison cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 24, 2012, from 6-7:00 p.m. at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel, with a rosary service starting at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, by Father Paul Doyle. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery.
