

Born in Lynchburg, June 4, 1945, he was the son of the late Garland “Pete” Watson and Martha Shelley Watson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Kidd and her husband Albert L. Kidd.
He is survived by his former wife, Teresa Watson; two sons, Christopher Scot Watson and his wife Estella of Rustburg and Mark Edward Watson and his wife Nicole of Summerville, SC; a brother, James R. Watson and his wife Rita of Odenton, MD; three granddaughters, Amanda Watson of Lynchburg, Jessica Wallace and her husband Nathan of Raleigh, NC and Chantel Kandralyan of Concord; two grandsons, Ryan Watson and Nikolas Watson both of Summerville, SC; one great granddaughter, Serah Smith of Concord and his faithful four-legged companions, Jack and Buffy.
Tommy was retired from Babcock and Wilcox. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Moose Lodge 715 and member of Fairview United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his friends. He was a former Scout Master of Troop 1 and former coach of the Perrymont football team.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Chaplain Chris Payton Travers officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 4:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the American Cancer Society, 2050 Langhorne Rd., Lynchburg, VA 24501 or another cancer organization or to the Salvation Army, 2201 Park Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24501.
