William Ashby Worley Sr.

William Ashby Worley, Sr., 83, of Lynchburg passed away Monday, May 17, 2021, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Sue Martin Worley. Born June 5, 1937, in Riverville, VA, he was the son of the late Robert Crawford Worley, Sr. and the late Lillian Moorman Worley.

William was a retired maintenance technician for Babcock and Wilcox for 48 years and a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife and parents, William was preceded in death by six siblings, Tabitha Barham, Christine Worley, Dorothy Worley, Julian Worley, Lawrence Worley and Arlene Davis.

William is survived by his children, Susan Michelle Worley of Lynchburg and William Worley, Jr. of Lynchburg; one brother, R.C. Worley, Jr. and his wife Donna of Lynchburg; and other loving family members and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Rick Rasberry officiating. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
