

Born on March 25, 1933 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late William and Doris (Wilson) Coleman.
Richard graduated from Medina High School in 1950, after graduating he started working for Niagara Mohawk Power Co., retiring in 1994 after working over 43 years. On June 15, 1957, he married the former Sara Kerr and together they raised four sons. He was an accomplished pianist and for many years played the organ for the First Presbyterian Church of Medina. In his spare time he enjoyed sailing and golfing.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sara Coleman, three sons, Scott Coleman of Lyndonville, James (Lucie) Coleman of Lockport, Steven (Rachel) Coleman of Lyndonville; three grandchildren, Alexis Hennebohl of Lockport, Jessica (Daniel) Volz of Lockport, Ryan Coleman of Lyndonville, three great-grandchildren, Corey, Grayson, Bayleigh, a sister, Freda (Dan) Barnard of Medina and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a son, David Coleman.
There are no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
