
Born on July 31, 1927 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Young) Yarwood.
She graduated from LaSalle High School where she excelled in swimming, having won many awards. She still enjoyed swimming whenever she could. For over twenty years she delivered newspapers in the Orleans Co. area. She loved to drive every day, while listening to her classical music and Rush Limbaugh.
She enjoyed trees, nature and her dog and cats.
Willa is survived by three daughters, Nace Skellon of Lyndonville, Candy (Gordon) Star of Canandaigua, Amy (Duane) Munn of Lyndonville, NY, ten grandchildren: Gypsy, Brandon, Butch (Alicia), Tonya, Eli, Hattie, Ann, Paul (Cindy), Sara (Gary), Bill, nine great-grandchildren, a sister, Alma Momburger of N. Carolina and many nieces, nephews and cousins and her dog, Beowulf.
She is predeceased by her husband, James Wise and two brothers, William and Roger Yarwood.
There is no calling. Relatives and friends may attend a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 112 N. Main St. Lyndonville, NY 14098 with the Rev. Stanley A. Thurber officiating.
Burial will be in the Acacia Park Cemetery, N. Tonawanda at the family’s convenience.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you plant a tree in her name.
