Bobby Marvin Dillard was born on June 10, 1938, in Hutchins, Texas, to Marvin Medro and Ernie Auline Dillard. Bobby passed into eternal rest at his home in Mabank, Texas, on October 6, 2020, at the age of 82. Bobby was a devoted and loving husband of 63 years to his wife, Glenda, and that love and devotion extended on to his daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the rest of his extended family.
Bobby retired as a Corporal from the Dallas Police Department in 1990, after 30 years of dedicated service. He continued to be a very busy man even after retirement as he always had a project going, usually involving construction. He had many hobbies through the years but his favorites were raising orchids and, even up until his death, geneaology. His database of ancestors could rival any other.
Bobby was a servant at heart, loving to help his community, family and friends at any time. All one had to do was ask. He was a member of Living for the Brand Cowboy Church in Athens, Texas.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Auline Dillard; brothers Jerry, Johnny and James Dillard; and sister Betty Bagwell. He is survived by his wife , Glenda Dillard; daughters, Freda Dillard and Barbara Raleigh and her husband James; grandchildren, Rachel Smith, Rebekah Merwin and Travis Prewitt; great-grand children, Skylar and Alyssa Crabtree, McKenna, Aaron, Jedediah and Gideon Merwin, and Isabella Prewitt. Bobby also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and a multitude of lifelong friends.
