Delyla Ann Buchanan

Delyla was born on March 9, 1944 in Wagoner, South Dakota to parents Amos and Violet (Honeymichael) Young and entered into eternal rest on October 28, 2017 at the age of 73. Delyla loved spending time with her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She enjoyed making quilts, volunteering at auctions and loved cooking for everyone and anyone. Delyla attended Lakeview Assembly of God. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother, who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Delyla was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 56 years Bobby Buchanan of Gun Barrel City, daughter Cyndi Sledge of Gun Barrel City, son Ronnie Buchanan and wife Darenna of Gun Barrel City, grandchildren; Chelsea, Jeremy, Brittany and Nathan, five great-grandchildren and one on the way, brothers; Warren Young and wife Mary of Payne Springs and Roger Young of Dallas, sisters; Barbara Henshaw of Dallas, Marlene McKeever and husband Rocky of Red Oak, Katie Musick of Dallas, Jessie Patton of Dallas and Deborah Young Wilkinson of Dallas, numerous nieces and nephews, other loving relatives and many more friends.

The family will be starting a rose garden in Delyla’s honor. In lieu of cut flowers or plants, the family request that you bring a rose bush that can be planted in her honor.
