
Gary Hollan Foster of Kemp, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the age of 81. He was born on July 5, 1943, in Pasa Robles, California, to Eula Mae (Cobb) Foster and Hollan Foster. He grew up in Riley, Canton, and Athens, Texas.
He worked as Concrete Contractor for more than 40 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Hollan Foster and Eula Mae (Cobb) Foster; sister Patricia Huckaba; and one great grandchild.
He is survived by his wife; Sharon Chamberlain Foster; daughters, Rhonda Foster and Ginger Morris; step-children, Tish Bouska and husband, Clint, Jason Blazek and wife, Alice, and Jessica Blazek; as well as 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
As a child, Gary loved to hunt, fish, and explore. He loved to visit his grandparents in the Old Bethel area as well as his grandparents in Athens. As an adult, he loved to fish and explore. He loved to go antiquing and bargain hunting at the thrift and Goodwill stores, as well as garage sales. He was an avid collector of records, as well as fishing lures, rods, and reels. He loved going to First Monday in Canton to resell, but mostly was there for people watching. He loved telling stories from his youth. He loved Old Western movies and shows from childhood on. He loved music from Elvis, as well as 50’s style music.
The family would like to thank Tina Littleton for the care and compassion she showed our loved one in their final days.
A memorial service for Gary will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank, Texas.
