

Hazel was born on August 20, 1933 in Maypearl, Texas to parents Henry Smiley and Ada M. (Miller) Gaston and entered into eternal rest on September 13, 2017 at the age of 84. Hazel married the love of her life, Allen, on November 20, 1948 in Rockwall, Texas. She was a stay at home mom and she was great at it. Hazel was the glue that kept the family together. She was very strong willed, spunky and not afraid to tell you like it was. Hazel liked being the center of attention and was always the life of the party. She loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren. Hazel loved the lake and sitting down to read a good Sci-Fi book. She enjoyed playing Skip-Bo, dominoes, 42 and chicken foot. Hazel was an amazing cook; her granddaughter Melanie said she was a good cooker. She would go to the Mabank Senior Center at the ballpark; where she would hang out with her friends and play in 42 tournaments. Hazel was a Baptist by faith. She was an exceptional lady who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Allen Standley Keeling, daughter Marie Elaine Hurley and brother Henry Lee Gaston.
She is survived by her son Carl Glen Keeling and wife Janet of Burleson, son Anthony Allen Keeling and wife Melissa of Euless, daughter Linda Sharlene Keeton of Garland, grandchildren; April, Melanie, Kristina, Matthew, Joseph, Lindsey, Kelly, Corey and Nathan, great-grandchildren; Cameron, Austin, Caleb, Adrian, Peyton, Hermione, Sebastian, Jacob, Hayden, Annie and Carter, brother Tom Gaston and wife Bonnie of Akron, OH, brother Charles Bass and wife Carla of Decatur, other loving family members and many more friends.
