Mrs. Hester Miriam Johnson

Hester Miriam Johnson was born on October 3, 1924 in Dallas, Texas to parents Walter Edgar Staton and Dora Dean Lynn and entered into eternal rest on June 28, 2015 at the age of 90. Hester moved to the Cedar Creek Lake area in the 80’s. She had worked many years at American General Insurance, before retiring. Hester loved being outside; going to Padre Island where she would go deep sea fishing. She enjoyed traveling; she has been all over the United States, but loved Jamaica and the Bahamas. Hester was very social and enjoyed being with her friends. She loved to dance and was a member of the 49er’s Club in Seven Points. Hester also enjoyed playing 42. She was a faithful member of Beacon Hill Church of Christ. Hester was a loving caring lady who will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved her.

Hester was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands J.T. Vandiver, Travis Simmons and Ralph Johnson, brother Walter Staton and sister Hazel Simmons.

She is survived by her daughter Patsy Goodell and husband Sam, son Jimmy Vandiver and wife Ola, grandchildren; Lance Birdsong, Lori Birdsong, Amy Pryor and husband James, Niki Vandiver, Brian Vandiver and wife Shayna and Kristin Brown and husband Michael, numerous great-grandchildren, a host of extended family and friends.
