Jean Bell Malone

Our mother was born Jean Marie Rountree on a Wednesday, July 1, 1942 along with her twin brother Jerry to their parents Marshall and Minnie Rountree in Dallas, Texas. Jean passed away shortly after 12:00 am Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in Mabank, Texas after over a decade living in a Nursing Home.

She went on to attend Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas. Jean later married Charles Bell and they raised 4 children together; Charles Jr., Stephen, Jenny, and Paul. She raised them to the best of her abilities. After 25 years of marriage, she and Charles divorced. She later married Travis Malone.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Minnie Rountree; both of her husbands, Charles Bell and Travis Malone; and her siblings, Marshall Jr., Jimmy, John Walter, Minnie, and Jerry. She is survived by her baby brother George Rountree.

She was proud of her 9 grandchildren; Stephanie, Denae, Chris, Brittany, Ryan, Sara, Chandler, Noah, and Ashlyn; and her 11 great grandchildren, Brady, Cash, Bowen, Ava, Benjamin, Liam, Knox, Grayson, Juniper, Charlie and Evelyn. She leaves behind many family members who loved her dearly.

Jean Bell Malone’s Celebration of Life will be held on February 22, 2024 at Eubank Cedar Creek at 10 am. Jean’s ashes will be laid to rest at the foot of her mother’s grave in Palestine, Texas as per her request.
