Joel was born in Commerce, TX on March 21, 1939. He spent many years in Abilene, TX, where he graduated from Abilene high school and attended McMurry College. Joel also spent many years in Phoenix, AZ and San Diego, CA before returning to Texas.
Joel is survived by his 3 daughters, Tonita Guy, Terry Hudgins, and Tracy Bentley and husband Tom, 5 granddaughters, Marcia, Sarah, Cecelia, Shannon, Michelle, 4 great grandchildren, and sister Sharon Willeford. Joel is also survived by his much-loved stepchildren, Michael McFarland and wife Poonam, Marc McFarland and wife Linda, Peggie Alderson Huntley, Danielle Alderson, 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, Marc, Alicia, Amanda, Dillon, Blake, Kailyn, and 8 step greatgrandchildren. Joel was anticipating the arrival of his 13th great grandchild Adalind next week.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margo A Hudgins in 2002.
Joel loved his family and friends and was never happier than when he was sharing time with them. He has left us with some incredible memories.
