

John was born on December 21, 1926 in Dallas, Texas to parents John Robert Longacre Sr. and Ruth Quiram Longacre and entered into eternal rest on March 2, 2015 at the age of 88. John was strong in his faith and his family. He enjoyed being outdoors; working with his flowers and fishing. John played 42 and worked crossword puzzles. He was a practical joker and would read the paper from front to back. John attended Concordia College in Austin and worked 36 years at Hormel Foods as a meat packer. He served in our military; United States Air Force and Coast Guard. John was in World War II during his time of serving. He was Lutheran by faith and attended St. Peters Lutheran Church in Gun Barrel City, where he taught Sunday school and played the trumpet on Sundays. John was a loving caring man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
John was preceded in death by his parents, wife Annie Mae Longacre, daughter Margorie Ann Lehew, grandson Robert Gene Lehew, granddaughter Marsha Gail Lindsey and great-great granddaughter Hayley Lindsey.
He is survived by his sons; Gerald Longacre of Whitney, Karl Longacre and wife Sharon of Mabank, Ronnie Longacre of Seven Point and Donnie Longacre and wife Tami of Seven Points, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, sisters; Anna Ruth Shaw of Seven Points and Dorothy Wanda Campbell and husband Jim of Kemp, other loving family members and many loving friends.
