

Mr. Johnny Walten Cross was born on October 14, 1944 in Dallas, TX to parents Ammon Cross and Johnnie Lee Dollar and entered into rest on July 21, 2015 at the age of 70. Johnny was known as “Pop” by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was strong in his faith and his life revolved around his family. Johnny loved bull riding, being outdoors; fishing and making homemade custom knives. He was an avid reader; especially his Bible and he loved western novels. Johnny served in The United States Navy and worked as a surveyor for over 25 years. He donated his time to schools, churches and municipalities. Johnny was a member of the Lakeview Assembly of God Church in Seven Points; where he taught the Royal Rangers. He was a very loving and caring man who will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, sister Phoebe Cross and brother Glenn Cross. He is survived by his loving wife Linda Cross of Mabank, sons; Bryan Cross and wife Vicky of Gun Barrel City, Denny Cross and wife Debbie of Mabank and John Cross and wife Linda of Mabank, daughter Gina Brown and husband Trace of Mabank, 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, brother Doug Cross and wife Anna of Kemp, sister Rita Hamilton of Terrell, other loving family members and many more friends. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
