

Judith Nesbit Cates-Timken was born on January 8, 1942 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to parents Steven and Arlynne (Morris) Nesbit and entered into eternal rest on September 5, 2017 at the age of 75. Judith graduated from High School in Knoxville, TN; where she performed in drama and was Captain of the Debate Team. Family and friends came to know Judith as “Red”. She was an independent lady and some called her a “pistol packing grandma”. Judith was an awesome cook and loved eating Lobster. She loved trains; especially working on miniature ones. Judith enjoyed being outdoors; fishing, camping, being on the beach looking for seashells. She liked watching Nascar and bull riding. Judith loved going antiquing; looking for a great find. She loved Star Trek and was a true “Treky”. Judith liked frogs and loved taking care of her cats. She was an amazing lady who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents; Steve and Arlynne Nesbit, first husband Jack Cates and second husband Verl Timken.
She is survived by her son David Cates and wife Judi of Vero Beach, FL, son Larry Cates of Arlington, grandchildren; Jeff Bateman and wife Betsy, Brandon Cates, Brittainy Cates, Justin Cates and wife Marina and Amanda Cates, great-grandchildren; Evalina Cates and Peyton Cates and Bryan, Josh and Jacey Bateman, sister Margie Bryant of Fort Worth, nephew Chuck, nieces; Casey and Jenny, loving family members and many more friends.
