Kenneth Clay Hensley was born to parents Christopher and Annie (Saylor) Hensley on July 13, 1929 in Connersville, Indiana and entered in to rest on January 18, 2020 in Mabank, TX. Kenneth attended Connersville High school and was part of the graduating class of 1948, it was soon after that he was called to seminary and in 1951 he graduated Bible Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. After graduation he then married the love of his life Dorothy Bell on June 2, 1951 in Athens, TX. He had a beautiful voice and loved singing, at one time he thought about becoming a singer and professional dancer. However, he knew his heart was going to belong to the church. He loved his children and wife deeply. Kenneth never met a stranger, and lived what he preached. He would give what he could to the people of his church and community. Kenneth enjoyed fishing with his children and watching the Dallas Cowboys, but only when Tom Landry was coaching. Kenneth was a volunteer firefighter, part of the housing authority and he helped with the community Thanksgiving services every year. He was the minister of Central Baptist Church for 48 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Anita Hensley and ten brothers and sisters.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Dorothy, daughter Karen Hensley of Mabank, TX, son Kenneth Brent Hensley of Mabank, TX, son Chris Hensley and wife Stacy of Martins Mill, TX, son Kevin Hensley of Gun Barrel City, TX, grandchildren Kimberly McCollom and husband Reece of Sanger, TX, Clay Busby of Texarkana, TX, Nicole Hawes and husband Michael of Martins Mill, TX, Daniel Routt and wife Carrie of Lindale, TX, Amy Diggs and husband Jon of Talty, TX, Brianna Gonzales and husband Anthony of Peoria AZ, Aaron Hensley and wife Lynn of Las Vegas, NV, Rachel Elliott and husband Brandon of Haslet, TX, Rebecca Witherspoon of Martins Mill, TX, Sara Hensley of Chicago, IL, Hope Hensley of Russellville, AR, sister Yvonna Hayes of Bloomington IN, 24 great grandchildren and many more family members and life long friends.
