Margaret Katherine Barton

Margaret Katherine Barton, age 88, of Mabank, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023. She was a caring and doting mother, "Granny", "Grandma Barton", and sister; who had a green thumb in gardening vegetables and growing flowers. Margaret was a vibrant and vivacious woman with the best pecan pie, made straight from the pecan tree for each Christmas Dinner. She moved to Plano, TX. and started working for Sears and Roback in Dallas, TX. Margaret soon married the love of her life, James Barton; they raised their family in Dallas until 1973, when they moved to Mabank, TX. She was a housewife, and helped her husband at their business, the original Barton's Transmission in Mabank. Christian by faith, Margaret praised her Lord at the First Baptist of Mabank, TX. She was affiliated with the Chicks Womens Group. Margaret will be truly missed by all of those who she met and knew.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Harold Barton; along with 5 sisters and 4 brothers.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Sandra Barton; son, Kenneth Wayne Barton and his wife Malinda; grandchildren, Brandy Michelle Laughery and her husband, Blake, Mandy Michelle Radtke and her husband, Leighton, Brittany Nicole Barton, Tyler Wayne Shackelford and his wife, Kelley Samiullah; great-grandchildren, Evan Hood, Sophia Laughery, Gunner Laughery, Asher Laughery, David Radtke, Presley Radtke and Olivia Ray Shackelford; brother, Billy Hodges; along with several other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Margaret will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Eubank Cedar Creek, Mabank, Texas. A a funeral service will occur Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Eubank Cedar Creek.

Margaret will be laid to rest in Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas.
