A Celebration of Life service for Marshall Dean Mathis Sr., 59, of Gun Barrel City, Texas will be on November 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home, Bro. Doug Key officiating.
Marshall passed away on October 28, 2023 in Gun Barrel City. He was born on March 10, 1964 in Corsicana, Texas to Billy Joe Mathis and Helen Jean Bean.
Marshall grew up around Corsicana and later settled in Gun Barrel City. He married his one true love, Vickey Aycock on January 24, 1985. The couple raised their family and had 38 beautiful years together.
Marshall was an outgoing man, who never met a stranger. He always greeted people with a smile. Marshall was a friend to many and was always there to help. Marshall enjoyed spending time fishing, but the best days and times were spent with his grandchildren and family. Marshall loved his wife, Vickey Mathis more than anything. They were always together. Marshall will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Mathis and Helen Bean; mother in-law, Pam Aycock.
Marshall is survived by his beloved wife, Vickey Mathis; children, Rebecca Parker and husband, Jacob Parker Sr., Marshall Mathis Jr., Billy Mathis and wife, Haileigh Mathis; grandchildren: Makenzia Mathis, Marshall Mathis III, Austin Mathis, Jacob Parker Jr., Kyle Parker and Cole Parker; siblings, Diane Lamb and husband, Donald Lamb, Kowana Cox, Billy England and wife, Pam England, William Earl Ratliff and wife, Mary Ratliff, Jerry Mathis; step father, Joe Owen; father in-law, Linden Aycock; a host of other family and friends.
A graveside service will follow at Cedar Creek Memorial Park in Mabank, Texas.
