Mary was born on March 5, 1957 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to parents Bennie and Margaret (Manning) Crofford and entered into eternal rest on May 4, 2018 at the age of 61. Mary graduated from MacArthur High School and received her Associates Degree in Nursing from El Centro College in Dallas. She married the love of her life, Jack, in 1986. Mary was known as “Mama” by Jack. She was a simple woman, who always had a kind word to share with everyone. Mary had an infectious laugh and smile. She loved her church, family and her dogs. Mary was named Nurse of the Year at Dallas Rehab, she loved caring for people. For 34 years Mary primarily worked with Health South, specifically with spinal cord and head injuries. The last 22 years she has worked for Rheumatology Associates. Mary had a love and affection for children. She served on the nursery ministry at her church. Mary also served on the fellowship committee at church. She enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Mary was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. She had a servant heart and was always looking out for others and wanting to help others. Mary will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Crofford.
She is survived by her loving husband Jack Lochabay of Athens, father Bennie Crofford of Athens, son Stacey Fuller of Athens, sister Cindy Roegner and husband Brian of Athens, many nieces and nephews, other loving family members and many more friends.
