Orville Gene Stewart

Orville Gene Stewart, age 91, of Payne Springs, Texas passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022. Orville was born June 17, 1931; to parents, Walter Gordon Stewart and Lena Dollarhide. He was a caring and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend; who loved spending time with his family. Gene was adventurous and appealing; he loved to fish, travel, and play guitar. He served his country proudly as an Airmen of the Air Force, from June 16, 1950 to January 16, 1954. Pentecostal by faith, Gene attended the First Assembly of God; located in Mabank, TX. He had a huge and kind heart; one that would sing to the residents of the Nursing Home to make their days brighter. Gene will be truly missed by all of those he met and knew through his lifetime.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter G. Stewart and Lena Dollarhide; brother, George Stewart; sister, Dorothy Stewart; brothers, Walter Gordon Stewart Jr., and Leroy Stewart; wife, Dixie June Stewart; son, Orville Gene Stewart Jr.; and Granddaughter, Christy Young.

Gene is survived by his daughter, Betty Stewart of Mesquite, TX.; son, Kenneth Stewart and daughter-in-law, Robin of Terrell, TX.; grandchildren, Benjamin Stewart of Mesquite, TX., Alexander Stewart of Terrell, TX., Casey Stewart of Terrell, TX.; great-grandchildren, Cameron Jaskolowski, Mesquite TX;, Prestin Crocker, Mesquite,TX.; special friend, Betty Splawn of Eustace, TX.; and close friend, Sandy Brown of Payne Springs, TX.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the chapel of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 10:00am. A Visitation will take place two hours prior to the service.
