Sam was born in Kaufman, Texas on July 22,1963, to Lin and Thelma Moser. He was a lifetime resident of Mabank, Texas. He attended all of his educational years at Mabank, being an important part of the Mabank High School football team before graduating in 1981. Sam had many jobs before starting a career with TXDot. Sam worked his way up in TXDot before ending his successful career with retirement in 2023. Sam was a beloved employee and coworker during his time with TXDot.
Sam and his wife, Ruth, made a home on his beloved family homestead where they lived happily raising their daughter, Samantha, for 22 years. Having his home there was a lifelong goal for Sam that he was able to achieve and enjoy. Many people have been welcomed into their home over the years. Many great memories of Sam entertaining were made in his shop. Sam was ever the entertainer, whether telling a slightly dramatic and embellished story making everyone laugh or picking and singing a tune that left people stunned and awed with his talent. As much as Sam loved entertaining, he had a lifelong love of hunting and being in the woods. Sam’s early and teen years were spent learning to hunt with his dad. Sam eventually shared that love of hunting with his friends and young family members. His daughter and eldest nephew have a lifetime of memories with Sam in the deer stand. His love for hunting led him to purchase a hunting property in Arkansas that he was able to enjoy his last few years.
Sam was a larger-than-life personality and a good man that will be dearly missed by many.
Sam is proceeded in death by his father, Lin Moser of Mabank.
