Celebration of life services for Sibyl Jeanette Stoner-Harpole, 81, of Mabank, Texas will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at East Gate Church of Christ in Kemp, Texas with Foy Anderson officiating.
Sibyl was born on November 30, 1942, in Dallas, Texas to Granville Brown and Lola Mae (Merritt) Phillips. She grew up and attended school in the Abilene area. Sibyl met her first love, Rodney Stoner and they were joined in marriage on May 23, 1959. Together they spent many years enjoying her love of fishing, hunting, dancing and traveling in the RV. During pleasant weather, you could always find her in the backyard tending to the garden and flowers. Sibyl joined Balch Springs Church of Christ in 1982 and was a long time member before moving to the East Texas area where she joined Seven Points Church of Christ followed by being a current member of East Gate Church of Christ. Sibyl always wanted to help those in need and had a kind and generous spirit. She adored her family gatherings/holidays and wanted to share that love with others that did not have that caring in their lives. Over the years, Sibyl fostered 32 kids through Christian Services. Sibyl was blessed to meet her second true love in Merritt Harpole and be united in marriage on February 21, 2023.
