

Stan Taraba was born on September 9, 1934 in Bristol, TX to parents William Taraba and Annie Patak and entered into eternal rest on September 12, 2015 at the age of 81. Stan met his wife at the Ole Top Rail Dance Hall in 1977 and married December 21,1979. He lived a good life and loved his grandchildren. Stan loved Christmas and decorating the yard for Christmas. He would cause a traffic jam looking at Christmas decorations. Stan loved to play poker at the family get togethers over Christmas, but the women were not allowed. He enjoyed watching westerns. Stan was a John Wayne fanatic. He owned everything John Wayne; he even named his dogs Chism and Duke. Stan loved country dancing, even won a trophy in a dance contest for the Waltz. He enjoyed going dancing at the VFW and The 49er’s Club. Stan worked for Triangle Plumbing Supply for 39 years. He was Catholic by faith. Stan was a very loving and caring man who will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him.
Stan was preceded in death by parents, sister Alice Lancaster and son-in-law Michael Gabel.
He is survived by his wife Mary Taraba, son Randy Taraba and wife Cindi, daughter Zelena Barbay and husband Terry, daughter Janice Gabel , daughter Virginia Childers and husband Don, daughter Sandra Starnes and husband Phillip, daughter Peggy Rodriguez and husband Dan, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter due in January, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and beloved dog Chism.
