Virginia Henson

Services for Virginia Henson, 94, of Waxahachie, formerly of Kemp, will be held 2 pm Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home in Mabank with Pastor Don Griffin officiating. Interment will be in Elm Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Henson passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 in Waxahachie. She was born August 9, 1928 in Nashville, Arkansas to Robert Louis Martin and Leila Ida Laughmiller Martin.

Virginia grew up in Nashville, Arkansas and then lived in the Dallas area for many years. She moved to Kemp in 1985. She loved quilting and knitting, was an excellent cook and housekeeper. Virginia was a devout Christian. When her children were growing up, she made sure they attended church every Sunday.

She was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Kemp until her health prevented her from attending. Because her faith was very important to her, she served in many positions at the church over the years.

Mrs. Henson is preceded in death by her husband, TV Henson; parents: Robert Martin and Leila Laughmiller Martin; son, Louis Frank Sillavan; three brothers: James, JW and Delton Martin; two sisters: Patsy Triggs and Peggy Harris; and step daughter, Jane Sims.

Virginia is survived by her sons and their wives: Charles and Janis Sillivan of Seagoville, and John R. and Elizabeth Ann Sillavan of Waxahachie; daughter, Willie Frances Flowers of Texarkana; step son and his wife, Victor and Elizabeth Henson of Carrollton, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Dorothy Zgarba and Julia Mae Stumberg.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
