Walter Lee Reynolds was born on November 30,1951 in Malakoff, Texas to parents Walter and Julia (Pelham) Reynolds and entered into eternal rest on July 09,2020 in Tyler, Texas. When Walter was a young boy, his mother gave him the nickname “Punkey”, and that is how everyone knew him. Punkey was a hard working family man; he adored his wife Beverly of 47 years and was very close to his daughter Lindsey, whom he would often give advice to when she needed guidance. Punkey was a graduate of Eustace High School and went on to get his associates degree from Henderson County Junior College and after graduation from there he went on to attend East Texas State University. In 1971, he started working for the railroad as a bridge inspector and worked his way up during his career, at the time of his retirement in 2006 he had become a Bridge Foreman. Punkey was easy to work for and was known to be a very understanding boss; there were many times he would take Lindsey to work with him. He always liked to be busy doing something, he could often be found fishing (he especially enjoyed fly-fishing), raising cattle or just spending time outside on his farm. Punkey was a member of First United Methodist Church in Payne Springs, where he was involved with the youth group and he cooked many hamburgers for the church picnic when he was able. He also had a passion for being involved in community, he served on the Payne Springs Water Board, the Eustace ISD School Board and was a lifetime member of the PTA. This easy going, soft spoken, chocolate cake loving man will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Punkey is preceded in death by his grandmother Eva Pelham, parents Walter and Julia Reynolds, his brother Jimmy Reynolds and sister Rebecca Gartrell.
He is survived by his wife Beverly, daughter Lindsey Martin and husband Joshua of Malakoff, grandsons Landen Reynolds and Wyatt Hall, brother Danny Reynolds of Eustace, sister Judy Browning and husband Charles of Eustace, his four legged companions Butterball and Bella, many nieces, nephews and other family members and life long friends.
