Bill was born on October 25, 1936 in Dallas, TX to parents William Felix Slay and Bessie Maringo and entered into eternal rest on March 24, 2016 at the age of 79. Bill was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Shirley, until her passing. He served in The United States Navy as an E-5 Second Class Petty Officer. Bill was a proud veteran and very patriotic and was an avid coin collector. He was a loving and caring man who will be missed tremendously by those who knew and loved him.
Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley Slay of 48 years, his parents; William Slay and Bessie Farmer and step-son James Smith.
He is survived by his son Steve Slay and wife Gaye of Kansas, son Michael Slay of Abilene, son Donald Slay and wife Lynda of Eustace, step-son Taylor Smith, step-daughter Darlene Echard, sister Patricia Hunsucker of Dangerfield, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces, 3 great-nephews, other loving family members and many more friends.
