Albert R. Raymond

Albert R. Raymond, 93, of Rockford, IL, formerly of Barrington, passed away Monday evening, March 7, 2022. He was born January 21, 1929 in Madawaska, Maine, the son of Henry and Regina (Bernard) Raymond. Albert married the love of his life, Lorraine Pelletier in 1953. He served in the United States Army. Albert worked as a carpenter and had received his 65 year pin from the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Local 1. He attended Holy Family Catholic Church. Albert enjoyed playing cards, backgammon, shooting pool, camping and bowling. He also enjoyed taking road trips. Albert was the patriarch of our family and will be greatly missed.

Albert is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Lorraine; children, Michael (Linda) Raymond, Paul (Charlotte) Raymond, Cheryl Raymond, James (Elizabeth) Raymond, Michelle (Mark) O’Donnell, Jason Raymond and Brian (Jennifer) Raymond; daughter-in-law, Cheri Raymond; 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lorraine, Geraldine and Gerald; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Patrick Raymond; siblings, Henry, Lionel, Bernard, Reginald, Marie, Clarence and Reno.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
