Alice Faye DeLap

Alice Faye DeLap, aged 84, of Machesney Park, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025. She was born April 9, 1941 to Dariel and Delphia (Bugbee) Winchel in Ontario, Wisconsin. Alice worked for many years at Amerock Hardware Manufacturing.

Alice liked baking and sewing for her family. She loved to plant flowers in her garden. Alice enjoyed playing sudoku. Most of all, Alice liked learning more about her family’s history and genealogy.

Alice is survived by her children, Joseph (Kathleen) DeLap, Rodney DeLap, and Holly (Franz) Schaller; grandchildren, Jay Michalak, Michelle Michalak, Colin Schaller, and Claire Padovano; great-grandchildren, Hailey Kreeger, Brianna Kreeger, Kylie Kreeger, Ariana Padovano, Lillian Schaller, Gavin Schaller; brother, David Winchel; sister-in-law, Judy Winchel; and brother-in-law, Arlen Filter.

She was preceded in death by her partner of 35 years, Jimmie Lowe; parents, Dariel and Delphia Winchel; and siblings, Velma (Joseph) Bugbee, Judith Winchel, Roger Winchel, Sherry (David) Tracy, Clifford Winchel, Sharon (Russell) Scholze, Wanda Winchel, Rodney Winchel, Robin Winchel, Mary (Wayne) Peters, Cindy Filter, Cheryl Winchel and her twin, and Rainey (Karen) Winchel.

A memorial gathering with a time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Picha Funeral Home, 908 Prairie Ave, Hillsboro, WI 54634. Interment will be in Forest Cemetery, E15925 State Hwy 33 Trunk, Hillsboro, WI 54634, followed by a luncheon.
