Alice M. Dreier

Machesney Park, IL. Alice Mae Dreier, 89, was welcomed into heaven on Friday, September 18, 2015. Born August 15, 1926 in Rockford, to Ralph and Helen (Kidwell) Smith. She married Eugene "Lucky" Dreier who preceded her in death in 2013. Alice enjoyed golfing and shared her passion. She also enjoyed going to the casinos and playing the slots. Alice and Lucky enjoyed golf outings with their friends and monthly gatherings with the birthday club. Alice made a career of taking care of her family and hosting memory filled holidays. Celebrating birthdays at Chen's and cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events were the simple pleasures that brought her content, along with the comfort of her dog Lexi. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at St. Annes "F" wing especially Kris and OSF Hospice.

She is survived by sons, Michael (Kris) and Dan (Pat) Dreier and daughter-in-law Patti; grandchildren Derek (Rachel), Jeremy (Julia), Nikki and Brandon (Tana); great-grandchildren, Jordan, Carter, Lilly, Griffin, Danny and Baby Cohen; brother, Kenneth Smith; sister-in-laws, Betty and Sally; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; her husband; son Scott; and sisters, Jean and Marjorie.

Private services will be held for close friends and family at 2pm, Friday September 25th at Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
