Alvira A Ebens

Alvira A. Ebens, 93, Rockford, passed away at Provena Saint Anne’s Center in Rockford on March 9, 2012. She was born on April 10, 1918 to Arthur and Bernice (Henry) Anderson in Richland Center, Wisconsin.

She married John Ebens on July 27, 1943 in Savannah, Georgia

Alvira was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church; she was also very active in her children’s activities, including PTA, Girl Scouts and music club. She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting and sewing.

Alvira is survived by her children; Sharon (David) Holdgrafer, Pat (Robert) Zambell, Shirley (Gene) Kamrath; siblings Doris Specht, Beatrice Messinger, Gordon Anderson; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several great- great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; a son, Junior Olson; and her siblings, Melvin Anderson, Madeline Burke, Arthur Anderson, Gifford Anderson, Geraldine Persinger, Marie Iverson, Hazel Barber, and Milford Anderson.

A visitation will be held, under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 827 16th Street, Rockford, Il at 9am with a 10 am funeral service to follow. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
