Beverly A. Larson

Beverly A. Larson, 77, of Loves Park, died at 1:15 pm on Saturday, February 26, 2011 in Provena St. Anne Center in Rockford with her family at her side. Born June 3, 1933 in Rockford, the daughter of Stewart and Frances Baxter. Graduated from East High School and Swedish American School of Nursing. Married Lyman Larson on November 15, 1957; he died in 2005. She was employed at Swedish American Hospital, Alma Nelson and numerous other places in the Rockford area for 45 years. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved children, dogs and enjoyed planting and caring for flowers. Beverly went to live at St. Anne Center in 2009. Instead of being depressed, she brought comfort and humor to all of the other residents. When her family took her out for a walk, she insisted that they take along anyone who was sad because the sunshine would do them good. The table that she sat at in the dining room became known as the “happy table” as she spread her humor. Survived by son, Brian (Jackie); daughters, Connie (William) McMahon and Mary Peterson; brother, Gerald (Pat) Baxter; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; husband; son, Tom; sister, Phyllis; and nieces, Jackie and Jeanine. Beverly’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at St. Anne Center and the VNA Hospice. She leaves to cherish many memories of her family, friend, neighbors and her beloved dog, Joe. Funeral services will be at 10 am on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd.
