Bonita Lynn Wheeler

Bonita Lynn Wheeler, aged 61, of Loves Park, Illinois entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 19, 2025. She was born April 19, 1964 in Rockford, Illinois to James and Carol (Wetterholm) Fagan. Bonita made friends wherever she went, she has friends across the country that she still kept up with. One of her favorite things to do was to search her family roots, which will be passed down to her children and husband to continue. She was a strong, determined woman who fought until the very end. She loved to have fun, laugh, and listen to music. She enjoyed playing board games, BINGO, and gambling.

Bonita is survived by her husband of 19 years, John Watters; two wonderful daughters, Bryssa (Chris) and Kessa; her loving mom, Carol Fagan; brother, Jim (Georgina) Fagan; and many loving friends.

She will be joining her dad, James Fagan; and grandparents, Al and Eila Wetterholm and Emma Fagan as well as various other loved ones.

As Snoopy would say, When our time on this Earth is done, money or material things will not matter, but the love, time, and kindness we’ve given others will shine and live on forever.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 25 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, Illinois, 61115 with a service to follow at 6:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
