

Carl “Willard” Larson, 94 of Rockford passed away July 25, 2014 while residing at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Born January 17, 1920 in Rockford, he was the son of Robert J. and Inez M. Larson. He married Dolores J. Larson June 1, 1946 in Rockford.
A U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, Willard was a founding member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Rockford; and a 70 year member of Carpenters Local 792.
Willard loved woodworking. Known as the “Cross Man”, his thousands of crosses can be found throughout the world. Whether given to an individual in a parking lot or to a mission in Nicaragua, his passion of spreading the Gospel was fulfilled.
He enjoyed fishing in Canada and spending time at his cabin in northern Wisconsin.
Survivors include his children, Timothy (Linda) Larson, Jill (Lon) Weberg, Brent (Cathy) Larson, Garry (Jodie) Larson, and Janene (Ken) Pollack; 12 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren; sister, Elaine Swanson; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Willard was predeceased by his parents, wife, grandson, Jonathan Weberg; sister, Alice Pellant; and brother, Burdette Larson.
Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, 3470 N. Alpine Road, Rockford; with Rev. Don Lavelle officiating. Visitation 9 – 10:15 a.m. at Fairhaven.
